Blue (Faux) Suede Skirt

We're over a month into the new year and I've been doing really well at sticking with my goal of not shopping. I really don't even have to try hard, I'm just not in the mood for new clothes (surprisingly, it's pretty nice!)

This blue faux suede skirt came into my life before the holidays, during one of my "Buy EVERYTHING that's on sale!" shopping binges. Suede skirts really started making a comeback, but the burnt orange color that I saw most often was a little too 70's for my style. This beautiful navy tone was much more my speed, and for only $15, it was a deal I couldn't let slip away.

We had absolutely gorgeous weather last weekend, so I wore this look for a late brunch date with Nick in the Strip District. When it's January and you can go outside in a skirt with no tights and no jacket, you have to use that to it's full potential! We ate brunch at Kaya, one of the restaurants on our 2016 Restaurant Passport. It was a first for us and sooo good, so we'll definitely be heading back!

I paired my skirt with a layered collared tank and neutral sweater. This has been my go-to look for work lately (I actually wore this exact outfit to work the following Monday.) When I do feel the urge to add more clothes to my closet, collared tops are going to be first on the list! For a pop of pattern, I wore my leopard loafers. They're starting to get a little too worn on the toes, but they're still one of my go-to shoes for the moment.
