A couple years ago when Nick and I moved to Pittsburgh, we made our "Restaurant Passport" that we featured in this post. I still think this is one of the most fun and helpful projects we've done, as it really pushes you to get out of your comfort zone and try new-to-you restaurants in your city.
At the time, we filled our passport with 52 restaurants (!!!) which now seems kind of crazy. That's a LOT of restaurants. While we did visit quite a few and updated our passport semi-regularly, it also got pretty out of date within the first year. Some restaurants closed, new restaurants opened, and our eating habits changed drastically as we started following a vegetarian/vegan diet.
It was high time to retire the old passport and create a brand spankin' new 2016 passport! Our plan is a lot more concrete this time around: we filled our 2016 restaurant passport with 24 new-to-us restaurants and we plan to visit two restaurants each month. Our hope is that having this intentional plan will actually get us to visit all of the spots we selected, rather than just work our way through the passport over time.
We kept almost the exact same design as before. Each page is numbered 1 through 24 and it lists the restaurant name, neighborhood, type of food, date we went, and our thoughts. If you want to see how we created the book itself, check out this post!
