Best of the Burgh

Though Nick and I aren't originally from Pittsburgh and we've actually only lived here for two years, we can definitely tell that this beautiful steel city is where we'll put down roots. The Burgh, The City of Bridges, The 412, Hell with the Lid Off... whatever you want to call it, it's our home. Pittsburgh has everything we could possibly want right in our backyard and we truly love it so (even in the winter!)

Pittsburgh is the 2nd largest city in Pennsylvania, so you can imagine we're not the only ones feeling the Burgh love. Every year Pittsburgh Magazine shares some of this love by hosting a Readers' Poll with their Best of the Burgh picks. Today Nick and I are going to share some of our favorite spots in the city, but we also have a little request for you too. If you're a fan of The Surznick Common Room, it would make us infinitely happy if you took a moment to vote for us in the Blogger category of the Poll.

Though our blog is still pretty young, I think that TSCR and Pittsburgh are a pretty great match. Is Pittsburgh the biggest or fanciest place around? Nope, and neither is this blog. But are the people of Pittsburgh incredibly hard-working and proud to be where they are? Yep, and so are we.

If you feel so inclined to vote for us, you can do so by clicking here. Just enter your name and email, scroll down to the Personalities section, and in the field next to Blogger, type in The Surznick Common Room (and make sure you vote in at least 10 different fields or your ballot may not be counted!) And seriously, thank you so much for taking the time to read our blog. It really means the world to us and we're so thankful.

But now, it's time for our Best of the Burgh picks! We're not going to share our pick for every category in the poll because HOLY COW it's a lot (and also, we don't go to the spa), but here are the ones that we like the most!

  1. My dad was born in Pittsburgh, but I've never even been to Pennsylvania itself, let alone the city, so it's cool to see some glimpses of it through someone else's eyes!

    1. Thanks, Rachel! I hope you get the chance to visit sometime. PA is a great state!

  2. I have lived near Pittsburgh for a very long time. As much as I hate the cold, I don't think I could ever leave this city. I do love it here...and of course I love all of my sports teams. haha! I've lived here for a long time but still find new places or things to see.

    1. It's a great place to live! We're always trying new restaurants and bars, visiting new neighborhoods, etc. There's always something new to discover!

  3. The figure out that goes in their benefits is that protected for a dent day defeat down by the Broncos, the Birds have stream nfl games losing their other 5 activities by 3 factors or less.
