Happy first day of summer, ladies and gents! It's certainly felt like summer for awhile now, especially this past week with temperatures in the 80's and 90's every day. Nick and I got to enjoy the warm weather quite a bit this week as we went to
3 2 outdoor concerts! (One was moved inside due to inclement weather).
You may know by now that we are big concert lovers. We're fortunate enough to be given free tickets to a lot of the shows we attend, and we're extremely grateful because our budget wouldn't allow for it otherwise. This past week we saw the Arctic Monkeys, Tegan & Sara, and Eve 6 & Everclear (hello, 90s!) They were all so fun and gave me a chance to get out of my dress clothes and into some casual concert wear. Here's a recap of what I wore and some iPhone shots of each show. (By the way, if you missed Concert Clothes Pt. 1 you can read it here!)
This skirt and shirt have been in my closet for years now, but I keep coming back to them every summer. I love easy, breezy pieces for outdoor concerts!
I've always been hesitant to try maxi dresses because a) I never thought they would be flattering on me, and b) I didn't want to hem them to fit my 5'4" frame. But I am pleased to say that I now have two maxi dresses and a maxi skirt and I love them all! This one didn't require any hemming and it cost me only $6 (oh yeah, oh yeah!)
I've been living in this straw hat over the past month for flea markets, festivals, and concerts. It's definitely my favorite purchase for the summer!
We hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy your first official day of summer!
Sarah & Nick
