Spicy Roasted Garbanzo Beans

It was a pretty lazy Sunday at casa de Surznick. It was one of those days where we didn't really want to cook meals, we just wanted to lay on the couch and be munchy all day. So it was a perfect day to make one of our go-to salty snacks... spicy roasted garbanzo beans!

This is the perfect crunchy little snack that you can eat pretty guilt-free, so it's an A+ in our book. Plus any recipe that has less than 5 ingredients is golden.

Here's what you need!
- 1 15.5 oz. can of garbanzo beans (chickpeas)
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1/2 packet of ranch seasoning/dressing mix

The original recipe found here uses 1/2 tsp. of salt, however, we like to leave out the salt and use the ranch seasoning instead. I think it helps balance out the spiciness of the cayenne pepper.

Here's what you do!
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees and line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil
- Drain and rinse the can of garbanzo beans
- In a bowl, combine all of the ingredients and mix well
- Spread the beans evenly on the cookie sheet in one layer
- Bake for 15 minutes, remove from oven and stir them around, then return to the oven for 10-15 more minutes or until they are brown and crunchy

These are super delicious right out of the oven. They get a little less crunchy once they've cooled so I like to enjoy them right away. Nick doesn't agree with me, but I think they kind of taste like spicy french fries! Have I won you over yet?
